Our builder went bust two weeks after we moved in leaving us with lots of outstanding work, not least of which was a quagmire of a back “garden” with a pronounced slope culminating in a muddy cliff. We decided this was inherently unsafe & we would have to bite the bullet and commission external help. After much research we selected Gardens Galore as the prime candidate to transform the sorry mess our builder had bequeathed us. When Jamie called to scope out our vision for improvement I recall asking if he was up for the challenge and was immediately assured that whilst it was a big task it was well within his firm’s capability and moreover his proposed drawing and costing would be sent for our consideration within the week! We loved his proposal and quickly signed up. It was at this point that it started raining for forty days & forty nights! Did this deter the Gardens Galore team? Did it heck! Scott, Peter, Willie & occasionally Mo or Harris laboured non-stop except during the heaviest downpours and quicker than I ever imagined the fabulous new design took shape. The constant rain though meant that the 40 tons of top soil needed to populate the terraces, borders & raised beds could not be lifted and delivered because it would just be poured off the lorry as sludge. All of our newly purchased plants, shrubs trees & roses would just have to wait a few weeks more. Eventually God relented and turned off the deluge for three or four days allowing the work to be completed. Boy oh boy was the wait worth it – the finished project was a joy to behold and exceeded our every expectation. Every member of the team was friendly & helpful, thoroughly professional, took great pride in their work and went out of their way to ensure the customer was content. They always arrived ahead of time and tidied everything before leaving each evening. We have no hesitation in recommending Gardens Galore. In a competitive field they have raised the bar very high and we doubt they can be beaten in terms of the quality of the service they provide. It was certainly a pleasure doing business with them and we send a big thank you to Jamie, Scott, Kim and the rest of the Gardens Galore team for all their hard work in creating a living landscape for us out of the sorry mess our builder left us.

From start to finish this was a carefully planned and professionally executed project. Details were discussed and agreed, and a firm starting date given. A skip and all the necessary building materials arrived on the first morning, the ground was systematically cleared, and a hedge line removed. The quality of the materials used, the craftsmanship of the joinery of the decking and the building work involved in steps and pathways, and the careful clearing up, were excellent. When we moved into our house in Dunfermline half of the garden was covered by a decking area that was rotten with the remainder a patio of old grey slabs and heavy clay soil. I removed the decking which left a large area of gravel over compacted clay with stone below that. Having engaged Gardens Galore for our previous house in Perth and having been very pleased with the work they did there, we arranged for them to transform this bombsite that was our garden into an attractive area to enjoy. It is now beautiful with a lovely patterned sandstone patio with curved lines, an area for planting following the introduction of several tonnes of topsoil, and the icing on the cake being the new pergola. They also removed the slope in the garden with the use of sleepers next to the fence (replacing four of the supporting posts that were found to be rotten).

Gardens Galore recently spent twelve days ripping out all of our old paving and old lawn and transformed our garden into a real showpiece. We are overjoyed. We now have a large area of Indian sandstone, edged borders, rose quartz gravel, new turf and a large raised bed. The real show stopper is an amazing curved staircase up to our kitchen doors. Incorporated into the design is some established plants. The effect is amazing. The staff that reconstructed our garden were nice and cheery with a pleasant manner, they worked hard and worked very tidily. Our neighbours even commented on this. The design they worked to really fits our house and setting. The Company also stuck to agreed dates. We cannot compliment Gardens Galore enough. My wife and I recently moved to a new Stephens bungalow in Guildtown and employed “Gardens Galore” to remove steps to the rear and replacing with a patio. Also 20 metres of Beech hedging planted to the front and a few tons of gravel to finish off the pathway areas. The work was carried out over a week or so, usually by 2 men, with extra men drafted in as required. The communication with the company was first class and I knew how and when all the various aspects of the work were to be done. The men were always punctual, they actually waited for 10 minutes or so if they arrived early..! All workers were very hard working and very polite. The patio was erected and the stone work and sandstone slabbing and coping completely matched our house perfectly. It looks like the patio had been constructed by Stephens homes and does not at all look like an “add on”. The finished product is first class and the work was always left extremely tidy (every day, not just at the end). Gardens Galore pricing was fair and the work was first class. I would definitely employ their services again.
