How to arrange a landscaping project
If you have not had garden landscaping carried out before, you may be wondering how you go about it. We are here to guide you through the process.
Here are the questions we are most frequently asked.
How do I arrange for a quote?
We will need to visit you to discuss your project.
To start the process, please give us a call on 01738 553 014 – our office is open from Monday to Friday 9.00 am until 5.00 pm. Alternatively, you can complete an enquiry form and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
We will provide a detailed quotation based on the site visit and our discussions.
What information do you need?
We will have an initial discussion by telephone. This is to make sure that we can provide the services you are looking for and to check that you live in an area that we cover. This will also help us to assess how long to allow for the site visit.
We will take relevant contact information from you and suggest a date for the meeting. We can usually agree on a morning or afternoon visit and will give you a more specific time closer to the date.
Is there a cost for the visit?
There is no charge for the visit – it is a no obligation meeting.
How long will the visit take?
It depends on the complexity of your project and the size of your garden. Most visits take between 30 – 60 minutes to allow for discussions on your requirements, a chat about materials, and to take measurements and photos if required.
When will I receive the quote?
Most quotations are issued within three working days of the visit. Non-standard materials may take longer whilst we obtain prices.
Will I get a drawing?
It depends on what features your project involves. Where a CAD drawing will help you to visualise the design, we will ask for your feedback on the drawing prior to the preparation of a quotation. There is no cost for this type of drawing. See more information on our garden design service.
Can I see samples of materials?
We can leave you a brochure, send links to photographs or provide samples as appropriate.
I am wanting a detailed design drawing so I can do the work myself – can you help?
This would be the remit of a garden designer. We can recommend John Frater from Plantforms for a full garden design service.
Do you do garden maintenance?
We do not carry out grass cutting, hedge cutting, power washing, garden tidies or regular maintenance.
I have received your quote and would like to go ahead. What happens next?
If you accept a quotation, we will check our availability to carry out the work. We will suggest dates to you and we will reserve the agreed dates in our work diary.
We will confirm the dates, costs and payment schedule in a written contract, so there are no surprises and everything is set out clearly in writing.
What are your payment terms?
This depends on the length of the contract.
Projects of one week or less would usually involve a 25% deposit.
Projects which take over one week would involve staged payments and we would discuss specific details with you when preparing the contract.
What payment methods do you accept?
We can accept payments by most cards or via BACS. We do not accept cash or cheques.
